The Binghamton Senators fell to the Rochester Americans, 3-1 in Friday night hockey action at the Blue Cross Arena. 
Paul Szczechura was the first to find the scoresheet as he backhanded home his 13th goal of the season, unassisted at 4:19 of the second to give Rochester a 1-0 lead.
The B-Sens answered as Craig Schira floated one in from the blue line at 9:08 to tie the game, 1-1. 
Pat Cannone and Derek Grant drew the assists on the play.
Luke Adam put the Amerks back out on top at 16:32 of the period. Adam walked in through the slot and slid one in under the left pad of Robin Lehner to give Rochester a 2-1 edge going into the second intermission.
Derek Whitmore made it 3-1 Amerks just past the midway point of the third period as he got a piece of Nick Crawford’s drive from the right point, tipping it past Lehner to give the Amerks a two-goal cushion.
Lehner made 26 saves total in the game as he fell to 13-18-1 on the season.
Saturday, March 10: Binghamton 1, Rochester 6

The B-Sens fell at the hands of the Rochester Americans for the second straight night as they dropped a 6-1 decision on Saturday at the Blue Cross Arena.
The Amerks potted four second period goals to take a commanding 6-0 lead heading into the second period.
Travis Turnbull had a big offensive night for the Amerks, posting a goal and a pair of assists. Mark Voakes also earned three points as he assisted on three of Rochester’s six goals.
The B-Sens spoiled Rochester’s shutout bid as Jack Downing’s snap shot from the right circle found its way past David Leggio at 14:49 of the final period. Mike Bartlett and Corey Cowick drew the assists on Downing’s goal, his sixth of the season.
Lehner allowed six goals on 23 shots through two periods of play. Mike McKenna took over goaltending duties for Binghamton in the third period and turned aside all four shots he faced.
Standings:The B-Sens are fifth place in the East Division (52 points).
Friday, March 16 vs. Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) – 7:05 p.m.
The B-Sens kick off a busy weekend of three games in as many days as they host the Albany Devils on Friday night. The game will be the eighth and final in the regular season series between these two teams. Through seven games against the Devils the B-Sens are 4-3-0-0.
The Devils hold a record of 27-24-6-4 and 64 points, good for third place overall in the Northeast Division. 
Joe Whitney is the current scoring leader for Albany. Through 58 games the forward has posted 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points. Ten (three goals, seven assists) of Whitney’s 35 points have been registered against the B-Sens.
Promotions: Friday is College Night! Fans who wear college apparel to the B-Sens executive offices, located on the third floor of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena will receive $2.50 off a ticket to Friday’s game. The Binghamton University student pep band will also be on hand, performing in the stands throughout the game. 
Saturday, March 17 vs. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) – 7:05 p.m.
Saturday night the Rochester Americans will make the trip to Binghamton after hosting the B-Sens in back-to-back games last weekend. The meeting is the seventh of eight between the teams, and third of four games in which the B-Sens and Amerks meet during the month of March. Binghamton trails the season series 1-5-0-0, having lost five straight to their North Division rivals. 
Rochester currently holds a record of 30-22-6-3 and 69 points, which lands them in third place in the North
Forward Phil Varone has moved into the team lead for points with 41 (8+33=41). 
Goaltender David Leggio ranks fifth amongst his American Hockey League peers in saves with 1,103.
Promotions: The first 1,000 fans through the gate on Saturday will receive a red B-Sens cowbell courtesy of MeadWestvaco. 
Sunday, March 18 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) – 3:05 p.m.
The B-Sens will complete the weekend with a trip to Wilkes-Barre for a matinee against the Penguins. The meeting will be the ninth of 10 between the East Division rivals this season. The B-Sens are 2-5-0-1 when facing the Pens.
The Penguins are currently second place in the East Division with a record of 36-20-2-5 and 79 points.
Ben Street leads the Penguins in points with 46 (22+24=46). Bryan Lerg is hot on his heels with 45 points (23+22=45). 
Fans can listen to Sunday’s game live on “Binghamton’s Classic Hits” BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts the Countdown to Faceoff. 
Wednesday, March 21 vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders) – 7:05 p.m.
The Binghamton Senators will begin a new week as they host the Northeast Division’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers in a midweek tilt. The meeting is the second and final between the teams this season. The B-Sens travelled to Bridgeport on Jan. 15, falling to the Sound Tigers 3-2. B-Sens forward Corey Locke tallied a pair of points (two assists) in the loss. 
Bridgeport enters this weekend with a record of 32-20-3-5 and 72 points, tying them with the Connecticut Whale for first place overall in their division. The Sound Tigers have earned points in eight of their last 10 games (5-2-0-3). 
Rookie forward Casey Cizikas, currently on recall to the New York Islanders, leads the Sound Tigers in assists (29), points (44) and plus-minus (+25). Defenseman Matt Donovan ranks second overall in points with 35 (7+28=35).

The Ottawa Senators signed forward Cole Schneider to a two-year entry-level contract on Wednesday of this week. Schneider will sign an amateur try-out agreement and report to the Binghamton Senators on Monday.

Schneider's collegiate season came to an end last Sunday when his University of Connecticut Huskies fell 4-3 to Air Force in Game 3 of the best-of-three Atlantic Hockey Association quarter-finals. Schneider scored twice in the game to improve his season total to 23 goals, establishing a new single-season record for goals by a UConn player. He also finished the year with 45 points to set a UConn single-season record and his 78 points after two seasons are more than any sophomore has recorded in UConn Division I history.

During his just-completed sophomore season, the 6-2, 185-pound native of Williamsville, N.Y., led the Huskies in scoring for the second consecutive campaign, recording 23 goals and 22 assists in 38 games. On March 13 he was named Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Week after registering six points on three goals and three assists in last week's AHA Quarterfinal series at Air Force.
Friday night as the B-Sens host the Albany Devils, they will also welcome the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park.
The ZooMobile will be present, allowing fans to interact with a variety of animals that call the zoo home.  
The zoo will have displays throughout the concourse that evening including a game station featuring the Bug Club table which allows fans the opportunity to try a chocolate covered cricket, face painting and the opportunity to ask a keeper questions about the animals.
There will also be a raffle for framed, autographed photo of B-Sens goaltender Mike McKenna and penguins Ronda and Ty who call the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park home. Raffle tickets are $1 per ticket or $3 for five tickets.
