The Binghamton Senators today announced details of the “Summer 2006 Youth Hockey Training Camp” that will feature three on-ice training sessions per day at the Chenango Ice Rink this July. Instructors for the camp will consist of coaching staff from the Binghamton Senators and the Junior Senators hockey clubs along with 2005-06 B-Sens’ captain Denis Hamel, who tied for the American Hockey League lead in goals last season, and Charlie Stephens.
It all gets started with the first session beginning on Monday, July 17th and ending on Friday, July 21st. A second session will begin the following Monday, July 24th and conclude on Friday, July 28th.
This hands-on training and skill development camp is open to all boys and girls between the ages of seven and 18. Program schedules are fixed for each group throughout the camp week and feature daily hockey games that will be open to family members wishing to take in the action.
The staff of instructors has more than 300 games of NHL experience and includes 2005-06 Binghamton Senators’ forwards Denis Hamel and Charlie Stephens, B-Sens’ assistant coach Mike Busniuk, and a pair of current Junior Senators’ coaches; former Broome Duster Pierre Laganiere and former NHL goaltender Tom Draper.
Each camp participant will receive a custom jersey and water bottle. And both lunch and a snack will be provided each day of the day-long camp.
Registrations are now being accepted for the camp. Interested parents are encouraged to register soon as each camp session will be limited to the first 90 skaters and nine goalies. The cost per session is $325 with a discount of $50 offered to those who sign up for both sessions.
Registration forms are printed on the back page of the camp’s brochure that can be picked up at several locations, including the Binghamton Senators executive office on the third floor of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and at the Chenango Ice Rink located at 614 River Road in Chenango Bridge.
