Emery The Latest To Go Up
February 24, 2004

The Ottawa Senators today recalled goalkeeper Ray Emery from the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Emery has played in 39 of the B-Sens 58 games this season, recording 18 wins, 15 losses and five ties for a 2.29 goals-against-average and a 92.6 save-percentage. Teammate Billy Thompson has seen action in 23 games and holds a 8-11-1 record.

Today’s recall is Emery’s third of the season. The Hamilton native has made one start for Ottawa this season, recording the win against Chicago on Dec. 18 and making 27 saves (6-1 win). He has also been back-up for Patrick Lalime on four occasions.

Ottawa faces off against the Montreal Canadiens this evening at the Bell Centre (7 p.m.). Lalime gets the start in goal while Martin Prusek will be out of the lineup due to a left knee injury.

The Binghamton Senators currently sit fifth in the East division with an 26-24-6-2 record. This week, the Senators host Wilkes-Barre Wednesday before heading to Norfolk for a pair of games against the Admirals Friday and Saturday.
