HAMEL NAMED FIRST TEAM
AHL ALL-STAR

The Binghamton Senators, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are proud to announce that left wing Denis Hamel has been named to the 2003-04 AHL First All-Star Team.

Hamel, 26, is a first time All-Star selection and currently leads the Senators in goals (28), assists (35), points (63), game-winning goals (6), and shorthanded goals (4).  His 63 points is currently tied for tenth in league scoring and his four shorthanded goals is tied for the league lead.

Hamelís 63 points is a personal best in his AHL career and set a new Binghamton Senator franchise record, breaking the mark of 62 points set last season by current Ottawa Senator Antoine Vermette.

Earlier this season, Hamel reached several AHL career milestones: he appeared in his 300th AHL contest December 19th against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, his game-wining goal on December 31st versus Bridgeport was the 100th of his career, and his goal January 17th was the 200th point of his career.

The complete first and second 2003-04 AHL All-Star Teams appear below:
