Sens Add Three As Playoff Roster Is Set

The Binghamton Senators today announced their playoff roster for the upcoming Calder Cup playoffs which included two players, winger Cory Pecker and defenseman John Jakopin, obtained through loans from other organizations, and Derek Campbell, signed to an amateur try-out agreement.

Pecker, a sixth round pick by the Calgary Flames in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, had 26 goals and 49 points in 131 career AHL games, all with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks.  Pecker had appeared in 54 contests this season with the Ducks with six goals (one power play and three game-winning goals) and 16 points.

Jakopin, a 6’6”, 240 lb. defender, had been with the Hartford Wolf*Pack, appearing in 49 games with three goals (one game-winner) and seven points along with 99 penalty minutes.  He has 241 AHL games on his resume and has appeared in 113 NHL contests during his eight-year professional career.

Both Jakopin (New York Rangers) and Pecker (Anaheim) were reassigned to the Binghamton Senators from their NHL clubs that retain their rights.

Binghamton also added Campbell to their playoff roster.  In 35 career games with the St. Thomas Tommies (CIS), Campbell scored 35 goals and totalled 73 points in 82 career games.  During his junior career in the Ontario Hockey League, Campbell appeared in 224 games with Belleville, Kingston, and Owen Sound with 63 goals and 175 points.

Jakopin and Pecker were placed on the B-Sens playoff roster, making them available for the remainder of the regular season.  Campbell was assigned to the “in residence” list, making him available only under emergency conditions affecting the 22-man playoff roster.
