THIS WEEK…

Sunday, Dec. 26 vs. Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers)

The B-Sens welcome the Adirondack Phantoms back to town for their lone game of Christmas week. The Phantoms roster features former B-Sens captain Denis Hamel. Hamel has averaged nearly a point per game with Adirondack scoring 11 goals and adding eight assists for 19 points in 20 games played. The game in Binghamton will mark for the first for Joe Paterson as head coach of the Phantoms. Paterson, named new head coach this week, began the 2010-11 season scouting for the Atlanta Thrashers. In two games against Adirondack this season, the B-Sens are 2-0 and have outscored the Phantoms 12 to 4. The Phantoms coast into Binghamton riding a two-game win streak. Saturday, Dec. 17 Adirondack defeated Hershey 3-1, and Sunday, Dec. 18 they ousted Abbotsford 2-1.

Promotions: All fans in attendance of Sunday’s game will receive a B-Sens team poster. There will also be a post-game, on-ice autograph session with B-Sens players.

SENS SNIPPETS…

Rookie B-Sens forward Colin Greening is riding a hot streak, scoring points in three straight games. Greening scored the game winning goal Friday in the B-Sens 7-0 shutout over the Syracuse Crunch. Saturday the product of Cornell University had his second multi-point performance of the season scoring the only two goals in Binghamton’s 4-2 loss to Charlotte. He also added a goal Sunday in Binghamton’s 3-2 win over Rochester.

Defenseman David Hale’s game-winning goal scored in Rochester on Sunday was his first of the season and his first as a B-Sen. Hale also scored a goal for the B-Sens National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators on Nov. 4 in their 4-1 win over the New York Islanders, which also proved to be a game-winner.

For the first time in the 2010-11 season, goaltender Robin Lehner won two straight games; Friday versus Syracuse and Sunday versus the Amerks. His 7-0 shutout over the Crunch Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena moved him into a tie with Mike Brodeur for eighth place among B-Sens all-time leaders in shutouts. Lehner is currently with Sweden’s national junior team for the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship set to take place in Buffalo, N.Y. from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.
