THIS WEEK…

Friday, Dec. 17 vs. Syracuse Crunch (Anaheim Ducks)

The Syracuse Crunch return to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for the fourth of eight meetings between the two teams this season. The B-Sens have shutout the Crunch in their past two meetings. Robin Lehner made 33 saves as the B-Sens defeated the Crunch 5-0 on Nov. 7. Barry Brust also turned away 33 shots enroute to the 4-0 B-Sens victory on Nov. 17. In total, the B-Sens have outscored the Crunch 10-2 so far this season. Nicolas Deschamps, who is currently ranked second overall among all Crunch skaters in points (8+7=15), has scored one of the two goals against Binghamton this season.  The Crunch roster has noticeably changed since their last trip to Binghamton; on Nov. 22 Anaheim acquired forwards David Laliberte and Patrick Maroon from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson.

Promotions: The B-Sens welcome Santa Claus to the Arena Friday night! Santa will be on the concourse throughout the game handing out candy canes to children in attendance.

Saturday, Dec. 18 vs. Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes)

The Charlotte Checkers return to Binghamton for the first time since Oct. 30. The meeting will be the third of eight between the two teams. So far, each game the B-Sens have played against the Checkers has required overtime to determine a winner. The B-Sens defeated the Checkers 4-3 on Oct. 29 as Bobby Butler net the OT winner, while the Checkers went on to defeat the B-Sens 3-2 on Oct. 30 with Casey Borer receiving credit for the overtime winner. The B-Sens are chasing the Checkers in the standings. Charlotte enters the week ranked third overall in the East Division with a record of 15-9-1-3 and 34 points. Charlotte will likely be without defenseman Bryan Rodney, who was recalled by Carolina yesterday. Rodney leads all Checkers defenseman in scoring with 18 points (five goals, 13 assists). Zach Boychuk leads all Checkers in scoring with 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points. He is hot on the trail of B-Sens forward Corey Locke, who currently leads the AHL in scoring with 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points.

Promotions: Saturday is a Festivus celebration as the B-Sens host a special Seinfeld themed night! The B-Sens will sport special Festivus jerseys, which will be auctioned off immediately post-game. Come dressed in your Festivus best or as your favorite Seinfeld character for your chance to win great prizes throughout the night!

The B-Sens wrap up another stretch of three games in three nights with a visit to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. The game will be the fourth of eight meetings between the intra-division rivals and the fourth game in six nights for the Amerks this week. Rochester has struggled at home this season. The Amerks enter the weekend with a 4-10-1-1 record in front of their hometown fans. Rochester’s leading scorer Michal Repik has been hot against the B-Sens this season, recording one goal and adding five assists in three games against the Senators so far this season. Forward Clay Wilson isn’t far behind having scored two goals and three assists in three games against Binghamton this season.

SENS SNIPPETS…
