The B-Sens dropped the puck versus the Penguins for the first time since a Feb. 12 meeting in Wilkes-Barre (a 3-2 shootout victory for the Pens). Binghamton won convincingly, 6-2. Kaspars Daugavins recorded two goals in the B-Sens victory, while Geoff Kinrade and Martin St. Pierre each recorded two assists. Josh Hennessy and Derek Smith each went on to record a goal and an assist, while Jonathan Cheechoo and Jim O’Brien each added goals of their own. Mike Brodeur manned the Binghamton net, turning away 35 of 37 Penguins’ shots. Hennessy’s and O’Brien’s goals each came shorthanded, tying a season-high for “shorties” scored in a game this season.

THIS WEEK…
Wednesday, April 7 @ Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers)
Friday, April 9 @ Adirondack Phantoms

The B-Sens make two trips to Glens Falls, N.Y. this week to close out their season series versus the Adirondack Phantoms. The teams have played eight games against each other so far this season, and are currently even with four wins each. The B-Sens have, however, outscored the Phantoms 26 to 17 in eight games played. Binghamton enters the game with an edge having gone 7-3-0-0 in their last ten games, while in turn Adirondack has gone 1-7-0-2 in their last ten. A host of goaltending issues in Philadelphia has had a trickle down effect for the Phantoms. Entering the week, the Phantoms have dressed a total of ten goaltenders throughout the 2009-10 season.

Saturday April 10 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins)
Sunday, April 11 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

The B-Sens close out the 2009-10 regular season with a home-and-home series versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Pens enter the weekend’s games looking to bounce back from a 6-2 pounding by the Senators last Friday. The B-Sens are now 2-2-1-1 against the Penguins this season. Ryan Keller leads all B-Sens in points against Wilkes-Barre with nine (three goals, six assists). Martin St. Pierre isn’t too far behind him with six (two goals, four assists).

Promotions: The B-Sens host four special events at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for their final regular season home game this Saturday!

In honor of Fan Appreciation Night, the Binghamton Senators will feature a grab bag table on the concourse. Fans will have an opportunity to choose a freebie from a variety of B-Sens gear and gifts on display. Additionally, the player awards will be presented in a special on-ice ceremony post-game.

The United Way will be on hand for “Live United” night with the B-Sens. They will be raffling off prizes during the second period, including a laptop computer courtesy of Best Buy! The raffle prizes will be on display on the concourse. Fans purchasing tickets or making a donation to United Way will receive a free t-shirt.

The Broome County High School Hockey Association’s 2010 All-Star game will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Fans with tickets to that evening’s B-Sens game receive free admission to the All-Star game featuring the best players from Binghamton, Chenango Forks, Chenango Valley, Johnson City, Maine-Endwell, Seton Central Catholic, Union-Endicott, and Vestal high schools.

Additionally the B-Sens game is part of the Broome County Sports Day Downtown Double Header! The B-Mets and B-Sens have a special package including tickets to the B-Mets afternoon game versus Akron, as well as that evening’s B-Sens game versus Wilkes-Barre. The B-Mets will be stopping by the Senators game that evening to sign autographs.
