THIS WEEK…

Friday, Dec. 11 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins)

The B-Sens take a trip south to Wilkes-Barre this Friday to take on the Penguins in only the second of eight meetings between the East division foes. The teams last saw each other at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Oct. 16, where the Pens easily skated to a 6-3 victory. The Pens hold a slight edge with the all-time record between the teams at 23-28-5-0-1. Wilkes-Barre also boasts a 7-4-0-0 record at home so far this season.

Saturday, Dec. 12 vs. Syracuse Crunch (Columbus Blue Jackets)

The B-Sens welcome the Syracuse Crunch back to the Arena on Saturday for the fifth of nine meetings between the teams. The season series is currently knotted up at two games a piece. Each team has only won on home ice this season. The Crunch will be seeking to put an end to this trend come Saturday.

Promotions: The B-Sens and Magic 101.7 present the 2009 “Teddy Bear Toss” to benefit the Bears and Blankets program. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used and clean teddy bears to be tossed onto the ice following the B-Sens’ first goal scored in the game. All teddy bears collected will be distributed to children in need throughout the Binghamton area this holiday season.

The Clayground Auction also continues on the concourse at the Arena. Fans will have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind ceramic mugs that have been hand painted by the 2009-10 Binghamton Senators. All proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Magic Paintbrush Project.

Santa Claus is also making an appearance at the game this Saturday. He will be greeting children on the concourse during the game. Immediately following the game fans will have the opportunity to skate with Santa on the ice of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

SENS SNIPPITS

The B-Sens have won their past four home games. In those past four home games the B-Sens have shutout their opponents three times, and overall have out shot their opponents 21-1.

Forward Kaspars Daugavins had a good week, earning the nod at the B-Sens nominee for Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 6. In two games Daugavins scored two goals and one assist for three points. He has registered at least a point in five of the last six B-Sens games.

Two B-Sens scored their first American Hockey League goals last week. Max Gratchev net his first Friday, Dec. 4 while Brandon Svendsen recorded his first on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The Binghamton Senators are currently taking ticket orders for the upcoming Outdoor Classic versus the Syracuse Crunch at the Grandstand at the New York State Fairground on Feb. 20, 2010. Tickets are $30 and $40. Fans can place their orders by calling the Binghamton Senators at 607-722-7367 or by visiting the B-Sens executive offices, located on the third floor of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena

B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY

Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 9 p.m. the B-Sens will be serving up spaghetti to benefit Broome County Toys for Tots. Fans are encouraged to join the B-Sens at Michelangelo’s Pizzeria & Ristorante located at 465 Upper Court Street on Binghamton’s East Side. Fans that bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the Broome County Toys for Tots program will be able to purchase a spaghetti dinner with salad and beverage for just $5.99. The meal will be served by your favorite B-Sens players. All tips collected by players will also be donated to Toys for Tots.
