BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today details for a pair of promotional nights this week as they host the Rochester Americans and Toronto Marlies this coming weekend.
Wednesday, Jan. 16 is the B-Sens Throwdown, a wrestling themed event set to take place as the B-Sens host the Rochester Americans.
The highlight will be a pre-game, eight-person sumo suit wrestling tournament on the concourse beginning at 6:15 p.m. The last man (or woman) standing will win a B-Sens prize pack, the B-Sens Throwdown championship belt and will be recognized on ice during the first intermission.
Fans can sign up to participate in the tournament via the Official Binghamton Senators Facebook Page, by contacting Matt Custer via e-mail at mcuster@binghamtonsenators.com or in person on the arena concourse. Tournament is open to the first eight fans to sign up. Participants that are not present on the main concourse by 6:10 p.m. will forfeit their spot in the tournament.
The B-Sens will be giving away two pairs of tickets to WWE presents RAW Road to Wrestlemania!, coming to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Sunday, March 17. Fans interested in entering may do so at the Fan Zone located behind section 15 on the arena concourse during Wednesday’s game. Winners will be drawn at the conclusion of the game and notified directly.
Fans are also encouraged to check out the pre-game chicken wing contest taking place in the Hall of Fame corner on the arena concourse. Harry L. Pub, House of Reardon, Nips and the Oasis are throwing down to see who has the best chicken wings in town!
Each establishment will bring five dozen wings to the event. The wings will then be judged on taste by a panel of celebrity judges including Wild 104’s Louie G and Broome County Executive Debbie Preston.
Wings not eaten in the taste test will be available for fans in attendance to try on a first come, first serve basis until they are gone.
Also Wednesday is a Press & Sun Bulletin Score 4 Night. B-Sens fans can purchase a package which includes four tickets to Wednesday’s game versus the Amerks, four fountain sodas and four hot dogs for just $69. The offer is only available through the B-Sens executive offices located on the third floor of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Friday, Jan. 18 is Animal Adventure Night as the B-Sens host the Toronto Marlies.
Our friends from Animal Adventure Park will be on hand with various animals in tow including an alligator, hedgehog and tarantula as well as snakes and lizards. Fans can meet and greet the residents of Animal Adventure Park at the Hall of Fame corner of the arena concourse.
The evening also features safari themed kid’s activities on the concourse including coloring and games and Boomer, the baby kangaroo, will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck.
