Standings:The B-Sens are in fifth place in the East Division (seven points).

THIS WEEK…

Friday, Oct. 28 vs. Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) – 7:05 p.m.

The Binghamton Senators welcome the Albany Devils to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for the first time this season. The meeting is the second of eight meetings between the two teams. The B-Sens travelled to Albany on Oct. 16, downing the Devils 4-2.  The Devils enter the week 3-5-0-0, tied with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Springfield Falcons for third place in the Northeast Division (six points). Matt Anderson currently holds the scoring lead in Albany with six points (three goals, three assists) in eight games. Tim Sestito leads the Devils and is tied for second overall in the American Hockey League in penalty minutes with 41.

The B-Sens will also welcome the Rochester Americans to the arena for the first time this weekend. The game is the first of eight meetings between the teams.  The Amerks are 3-3-1-1 so far this season, good for 8 points and second place overall in the North Division. Forwards Zack Kassian and Derek Whitmore are currently tied for the team lead in points with seven; both have scored three goals and added four assists in eight games.

Sunday, Oct. 30 @ Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals) – 5 p.m.

The B-Sens wrap up the weekend as they make their first trip of the regular season to the Giant Center, a building in which Binghamton has only won six games since 2002. The Bears currently sit in first place of the East Division, boasting a record of 5-1-1-0 (11 points). Hershey also enters the week with the league’s second best power play percentage (34.2%), going 13 for 38 with the man advantage. Chris Bourque currently leads the Bears, and his American Hockey League peers, in points having scored 13 (five goals, eight assists) in seven games. Former Binghamton Senators forward, Ryan Potulny, is currently out of the Bears line-up after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia.

Fans can listen to the game live from Hershey on “Binghamton’s Classic Hits” BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff.

B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…

The B-Sens are holding a coat drive in support of the “Keeping Kids Warm” campaign. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used children’s coat to the games Friday versus Albany and Saturday versus Rochester. Look for the blue barrels on the arena concourse and be sure to visit the “Keeping Kids Warm” tables on the concourse to learn more about this initiative.

Also this weekend, the Binghamton Senators’ better halves will be selling special B-Sens personalized “Love for Lokomotiv” silicon memory bracelets. The bracelets are only $5 and all proceeds from their sale will be donated to the families who lost loved ones on Sept. 7 when the plane carrying the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team of the Kontinential Hockey League crashed in Central Russia. Fans who wish to purchase a bracelet are encouraged to visit the wives’ table on the arena concourse.

For Saturday’s game versus Rochester, children are encouraged to come in costume. There will be trick-or-treating on the concourse throughout the evening, courtesy of Candy Land. Trick-or-treat bags will be given to the first 500 children in attendance courtesy of Spirit Halloween.
