After suffering a 7-4 loss to the Binghamton Senators on Jan. 28, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins rebounded by handing the B-Sens a 6-1 loss last Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. 
 
Alex Grant and Matt Rust each scored a pair of goals for the Penguins, while Ben Street received credit for the game winner.
 
In addition to Grant and Rust, three more Pens would end the night with multiple points. Nick Petersen rounded out the scoring for Wilkes-Barre, tallying a goal with just 48.3 seconds remaining in regulation and added a pair of assists to the scorecard. Joey Mormina and Eric Tangradi also drew two assists in the game.
 
Binghamton’s lone goal came on the power play, courtesy of Corey Locke at 18:15 of the first period. Stephane Da Costa and Josh Godfrey earned the assists on the play.
 
Robin Lehner started in goal for the B-Sens, making 27 saves as he fell to 7-16-1. Scott Munroe earned the nod in goal for the visiting Penguins, turning aside 24 shots as he improved to 10-4-3.
 
Saturday, Feb. 18: Portland 2, Binghamton 6

PP: Portland 0 for 3, Binghamton 1 for 4
 
The Binghamton Senators ended a five game skid with a commanding 6-2 victory over the Portland Pirates at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night. 
 
B-Sens captain Mark Parrish tallied a pair of goals to lead the B-Sens offense. Eric Gryba, Dan Henningson, Corey Locke and Mike Bartlett also found the back of the net for Binghamton.
 
Evan Bloodoff and Patrick O’Sullivan each scored goals for the visiting Pirates.
 
Robin Lehner made his second straight start in goal for the B-Sens, making 36 saves to improve to 8-16-1 on the season. Marc Cheverie drew the start in goal for the Pirates, but would be replaced by Justin Pogge in the second period after allowing five goals on 19 shots. Pogge stopped eight of nine shots in the game.
 
Sunday, Feb. 19: Binghamton 2, Albany 4

PP: Binghamton 0 for 3, Albany 1 for 5
 
Coming off a dominating performance on Saturday night, the Binghamton Senators would get off to a strong start in Albany Sunday afternoon, taking a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. However, the Devils rebounded with three goals in the second period en route to a 4-2 victory over the B-Sens.
Pat Cannone and Mark Borowiecki each scored goals for the B-Sens.
 
Mike Sislo, Steve Zalewski and Vladimir Zharkov each scored second period goals for the Devils.
With Mike McKenna pulled in favor of an extra attacker in the final minute of play, Zharkov would score his second of the game on the empty net to secure the win for Albany.
McKenna made 35 saves as he fell to 13-15-0 on the season. His counterpart Keith Kinkaid made 27 saves to improve to 14-13-1.
Record:21-29-2-1
 
Standings:The B-Sens are fifth place in the East Division (45 points).
                                                                       
THIS WEEK…
 
Friday, Feb. 24 vs. Norfolk Admirals (Tampa Bay Lightning) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The Norfolk Admirals make their third visit of the season the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena tonight. The meeting is the fifth of eight between the East Division rivals. The teams last met on Dec. 10 in Binghamton, a 5-2 Norfolk victory that gave the Admirals a 3-0-0-1 edge in the season series.
 
The Admirals enter tonight’s game, ranked second in the East Division with a record of 33-18-1-2 and 69 points. The Admirals also boast a road record of 17-9-0-1. 
 
Rookie forward Cory Conacher leads the Admirals in goals (29), points (60), power play goals (12) and game winning goals (6). 
 
Saturday, Feb. 25 vs. Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens complete a week of back-to-back home games as they welcome the Adirondack Phantoms to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this season for the seventh of eight meetings between the two teams. The B-Sens last met the Phantoms on Jan. 4 in Glens Falls – a 4-3 Binghamton victory. The B-Sens are undefeated against the Phantoms this season (6-0-0-0) and have outscored their opponent 25 to 12.
 
Currently, the Phantoms are in fifth place in the Northeast Division with a record of 24-25-2-1 and 51 points. 
 
Rookie forward Jason Akeson leads the Phantoms in assists (31) and points (41). Former B-Sens captain, Denis Hamel ranks third overall on the Phantoms in points with 32 (16+16=32).   
 
Tuesday, Feb. 28 vs. St. John’s IceCaps (Winnipeg Jets) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The Binghamton Senators will welcome the St. John’s IceCaps to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for the first time ever in a rare Tuesday evening tilt. The meeting will be the third of four between the teams. The B-Sens travelled to St. John’s earlier in the month, falling in back-to-back games to the Atlantic Division rival. The IceCaps defeated the B-Sens by a score of 4-3 on Feb. 11 and 6-3 on Feb. 12. 
 
Entering the weekend, the IceCaps rank first overall in the Atlantic Division, and the Eastern Conference, with a record of 33-13-5-1 and 72 points. They have also gone 8-2-0-0 in their last 10 games. 
 
Forward Spencer Machacek (12+25=37) and defenseman Paul Postma (11+26=37) are tied for the team lead in points. 
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Forward Mike Hoffman recorded three assists in the B-Sens’ 6-2 victory over the Portland Pirates last Saturday night. It was the second time this season Hoffman recorded a trio of assists and his ninth multiple point game this season. 
 
Hoffman ranks second overall in scoring for the B-Sens with 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists). The second year forward ranks first in power play goals (7) and points (23).
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
 
The Broome Sports Foundation’s annual silent auction begins tonight at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena as the Binghamton Senators host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m.  Bidding for all auction items starts at 6 p.m. and will run through the conclusion of the B-Sens’ game against the Adirondack Phantoms tomorrow.  All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.
 
This year’s silent auction features many valuable sports memorabilia items, including hockey and non-hockey items.  Some items in this year’s auction include:
