The B-Sens dropped a road contest to the Albany Devils by a score of 3-2 last Wednesday. Captain Mark Parrish netted a power play goal in the first but Albany leveled the score with a power play goal of their own from Joe Whitney later that period. Mark Borowiecki put the B-Sens ahead in the second period but the Devils countered again with a short-handed goal from Steve Bernier. Stephen Gionta scored the game-winning goal for Albany in the third. Mike McKenna started in net, stopping 27 of 30 shots for Binghamton.
 
Friday, Nov. 4: Rochester 3, Binghamton 2
Shots: Rochester 35, Binghamton 31
PP: Rochester 0 for 4, Binghamton 1 for 3
 
The B-Sens were defeated by the Rochester Americans 3-2 in front of a sellout crowd at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena last Friday. The Amerks jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period with goals from Jacob Lagace and Zack Kassian. Pat Cannone put the B-Sens on the board with a power play goal midway through the period, but Marcus Foligno stretched the Rochester lead to 3-1 early in the second. Despite Francis Lessard’s first goal of the season later that period, the Amerks held on for the win.  Robin Lehner tended goal for Binghamton, turning away 32 of 35 shots.
 
Saturday, Nov. 5: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2, Binghamton 1 (shootout)
Shots: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 32, Binghamton 29
PP: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 0 for 4, Binghamton 1 for 5
 
The B-Sens played host to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night, losing in a shootout 2-1. Zach Sill’s second period goal stood as the game’s only one until late in the third period as Mike Hoffman tied the game for Binghamton on the power play. Neither team was able to score through the overtime period and the game headed to a shootout. Bryan Lerg scored the game winning goal in the fourth round to help the Penguins to the 2-1 victory. B-Sens netminder Robin Lehner stopped 30 of 31 shots in regulation and one of four shootout attempts.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 9: Binghamton 0, Hershey 3
Shots: Binghamton 15, Hershey 35
PP: Binghamton 0 for 2, Hershey 1 for 1
 
Binghamton traveled to Hershey Wednesday night, where the Bears shutout the B-Sens 3-0. Grant Mink scored a power play goal early in the first period to give Hershey a 1-0 lead. Garrett Mitchell extended the Bears’ lead as he added another goal later in the first. In the second period, Boyd Kane netted the game’s third and final goal. Robin Lehner started in net for Binghamton, saving 24 of 27 shots through two periods. Mike McKenna took over the goalkeeper responsibilities in the third, stopping all eight shots he faced.
 
Record:5-7-1-1
 
Standings:The B-Sens are in fifth place in the East Division (twelve points).
                                                                       
THIS WEEK…
 
Friday, Nov. 11 @. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) – 7:35 p.m.
 
The B-Sens will travel to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester tonight for the first time this season to take on the Amerks. The two teams have faced off twice already this season in Binghamton. The B-Sens earned the win on Oct. 29 by a score of 3-1 while Rochester won the Nov. 4 matchup 3-2. The Amerks currently sit in second place in the North Division with a record of 5-5-2-1 and 13 points. Zack Kassian leads the Amerks offense having recorded ten points (five goals, five assists) in 13 games. 
 
Sunday, Nov. 13 vs. Hamilton Bulldogs (Montreal Canadiens) – 1 p.m.
 
The B-Sens will play a home game at Scotiabank Place, home of their parent club Ottawa Senators this Sunday as they take on the Hamilton Bulldogs for the first time this season. The Bulldogs are currently tied with the Lake Erie Monsters for third place overall in the North Division with 11 points and a 5-6-1-0 record. Brian Willsie ranks first overall on the team in points with nine (one goal, eight assists). Binghamton and Hamilton faced off twice last season, with the Bulldogs sweeping the series. Hamilton won 5-2 on Nov. 5, in Montreal and 1-0 on Nov. 26 in Ottawa.
 
Tuesday, Nov. 15 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens hit the road to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins who, with a record of 8-2-1-1, currently sit in first place in the East Division with 18 points. The teams have split their first two contests this season.  Binghamton earned their first victory of the season as they defeated the Pens 5-4 in overtime on the road on Oct. 15. Wilkes-Barre downed the B-Sens in a 2-1 shootout on Nov. 5 in Binghamton. Bryan Lerg leads the team in points with 13 (six goals, seven assists) while goalkeeper Brad Thiessen ranks fifth overall in the league with a 1.82 goals-against average.
 
Fans can listen to this week’s games live on “Binghamton’s Classic Hits” BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff. 
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Defenseman Mark Borowiecki scored his first professional goal in Albany last Wednesday. In 14 games with the B-Sens this season, Borowiecki has three points (one goal, two assists) and ranks second overall on the team in plus-minus with a plus-four. 
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
 
Have you heard about the Binghamton Senators 7th Man Program? The B-Sens have teamed up with the Magic Paintbrush Project for this special program which increases access for families and individuals with special needs in the Southern Tier community, enabling them to actively participate in the B-Sens hockey experience. For each B-Sens home game, one lucky family receives four tickets to the game, with a special concierge assigned to assist the family and provide accessibility support. Each family is visited by the B-Sens mascot Max and has the opportunity to meet and greet a player post game (schedule permitting). If you or someone you know would be interested in participating in the 7th Man Program please contact the Magic Paintbrush Project at 607-729-5059.
