NORFOLK, V.A. – After falling to the Norfolk Admirals 7-0 just 24 hours earlier, the Binghamton Senators rebounded with a 3-2 shootout victory at the Scope Arena Saturday night.
Andre Petersson scored his first professional goal in regulation and added a tally in the shootout. Robin Lehner stopped 37 of 39 shots in regulation and overtime before blanking the Admirals on all four shootout attempts.
The B-Sens got on the board first as captain Mark Parrish scored his team leading fifth goal of the season on a power play at 10:06 the first period. Petersson added to Binghamton’s lead at 15:14 of the period. Lehner was credited with secondary assists on both goals.
Norfolk tied the game up in the second period at the hands of Mike Vernace. The Admirals blueliner cut the deficit to 2-1 with a power play goal at 17:12 of the middle frame, before beating Lehner once more at the 18:55 mark to knot the game at two.
Following scoreless third and overtime periods, Mike Hoffman and Petersson capitalized on Binghamton’s attempts in the third and fourth round of the shootout respectively to send the Senators home with two points.
The B-Sens are in action again as they host the Albany Devils on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 for side seating, $17.50 for end seating.
