SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse tucked five pucks behind Binghamton goaltender Robin Lehner on 13 shots in the second period and rode that surge to a 6-4 win over the visiting Senators on Friday at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

Attendance was 6,398, the largest crowd to take in a Crunch game this season.

The gathering witnessed their hometown Crunch extend their winning streak to five games and move to 12-3-0-0 in their last 15 games. Though the Crunch will miss the Calder Cup Playoffs, they are doing anything but playing out the string.

Patrick Maroon and Josh Green each posted a goal and an assist for Syracuse; Rich Schofield scored for the third time in as many games; Kyle Palmieri notched his AHL rookie-leading 27th goal of the season; and defensemen Mat Clark and Mark Mitera rounded out the offense.

Nick Bonino (0-3-3) and defenseman Sean Zimmerman (0-2-2) each finished with multiple helpers on the night, and Crunch goaltender Timo Pielmeier made 38 saves to pick up his third straight win in net.

Derek Grant (1-1-2), Jim O’Brien, and rookie Colin Greening scored for the Senators, whose six-game winning streak came to an end. Binghamton is now five points up on Worcester for the Eastern Conference’s crossover playoff spot.
