On a recent trip to Ottawa, I had the opportunity to ask several Ottawa Senators players about their time here in Binghamton. Amongst the conversation was a list of numerous things they missed about Broome County and their fellow B-Sens hockey teammates.
Eric Gryba: I miss the guys for sure; you know the team in general and the roommates out at "The Ranch". I also miss little places like Lost Dog.
Chris Neil: The OG! Olive Garden!
Mika Zibanejad: Obviously, I miss the guys. Freddy Claesson is still down there and he is a good friend of mine. We have been playing together for the last couple years and we roomed together down in Binghamton.
Erik Condra: Olive Garden, Lost Dog, Number 5. I loved all those restaurants. We had a great group of guys; a lot of them are up here actually. But the fans are such a close knit group of people in such a small community. We felt like we knew most of them. I lived in a little neighborhood behind the Vestal school there and a neighborhood kids would come up and put signs on our door. Little things like that you miss. Just the small community feel was nice.
Kaspars Daugavins: I miss most of it because I spent a lot of time there. I have a lot of good memories about a lot of things; a couple of good restaurants, a couple of good golf courses, some crazy fans in Bingo. Just the whole thing, you know?
