BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that they will hold an Ugly Sweater party on Wednesday, Dec. 19 as they host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Fans are encouraged to wear their ugliest Christmas sweaters to the game that night. No sweater? No problem! A limited number of ugly sweaters will be available for a $5 or more donation to the Salvation Army.
The top 12 individuals sporting the ugliest sweaters (as chosen by the B-Sens game night staff), will compete in a first intermission “fashion show” at center ice. The fan deemed to have the ugliest sweater in the fashion show will take home a Binghamton Senators sweatshirt to help them achieve a better sense of style.
All fans in attendance of the game that come wearing ugly sweaters are invited onto the ice post-game to be a part of a special ugly sweater photo taken by Just Sports Photography. The photo will appear on the B-Sens’ social medias the following day.
Fans who wear sweaters to the game also have the option of donating their sweaters to the Salvation Army upon leaving the game that evening.
Since 1885, the Salvation Army in Binghamton has provided food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Tickets to the game are $19 for side and $18 for end seats. Fans can purchase tickets through the B-Sens executive office by calling (607) 722-SENS (7367), the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office, and all Ticketmaster outlets.
