BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that the team has partnered with Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital in Johnson City in their second annual season-long effort to assist the Southern Tier pet population, dubbed “Pucks 4 Paws” (formerly known as Paws for Cause).
The initiative has officially kicked off with the debut of the 2013 Binghamton Senators Paws for Cause calendar. The 16-month calendar features photos of B-Sens players, coaches and staff members with their family pets or pets from the area shelters. The limited edition calendars are $20 and available for purchase at the Pucks 4 Paws table on Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games, while supplies last.
New this year Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital will be raffling off a special Binghamton Senators pendant, designed exclusively for Pucks 4 Paws by CD Daniel & Co. Fine Jewelry. The pendant, valued at $1,500, is reversible. One side features a diamond paw print, while the other features the B-Sens logo accented by rubies and black diamonds. The pendant will be on display at the Pucks 4 Paws table on the arena concourse for all upcoming B-Sens home games until the drawing which is set to take place on Feb. 15. Fans need not be present to win. Raffle tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Pucks 4 Paws table, the B-Sens executive offices during regular business hours and Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital (716 Harry L Drive, Johnson City).
All proceeds from the calendar and raffle sales will benefit the Animal Care Council, Broome County Humane Society, Front Street Dog Shelter, SPCA in Waverly and Project P.A.W.
In conjunction with the calendar and raffle this season, the Binghamton Senators and Dickin Memorial will be partnering for a special Pucks 4 Paws night scheduled to take place on Friday, Feb. 15 as the B-Sens host the Syracuse Crunch.
The B-Sens raised over $6,000 through their efforts last season, benefitting the Broome County Humane Society and Project P.A.W. Their hope is to surpass that this season.
“Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital is thrilled that for the second straight season that the Binghamton Senators have embraced this cause. In partnering with the team our hope is to bring awareness to this cause and provide as much support as we can,” explained Dr. Alison Beaulieu, owner and veterinarian of Dickin Memorial Animal Hospital.
“We also want to call the fans to action. This initiative is just as much about volunteering your time as it is helping to raise money for these shelters.”
