The B-Sens travelled to Connecticut to take on former East Division rivals the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (now members of the Atlantic Division). Brian Lee and Ryan Keller each scored for Binghamton, while Denis Hamel registered two assists. Former B-Sen Greg Mauldin’s two goals, including one at 2:10 into overtime, helped propel the Sound Tigers past Binghamton.
Friday, Oct. 16: Binghamton 3, Wilkes-Barre 6

PP: Binghamton 0 for 4, Wilkes-Barre 3 for 5
Despite pelting the Baby Penguins John Curry with 41 shots, the B-Sens fell short to Wilkes-Barre. After allowing three goals in 7:52, Binghamton’s Mike Brodeur was pulled from net in favor of Andy Chiodo, but the Penguins offense continued to roll. Martin St. Pierre netted his fourth goal of the season, Erik Condra added his first and Ryan Keller hit the net on a penalty shot.
Saturday, Oct. 17: Binghamton 2, Hershey 3 (OT)

The B-Sens faced the Hershey Bears in a rematch looking to redeem themselves from an 8-1 loss suffered just one week before. Andy Chiodo put forth an outstanding effort making 41 saves, however the Bears Alexandre Giroux’s two goals, including his tally at 1:11 of overtime helped propel the Bears to their second straight victory over the B-Sens in a week’s time. Josh Hennessy and Cody Bass both scored their first goals of the season.

THIS WEEK…
Wednesday, Oct. 21 @ Rochester Americans (Florida Panthers)
The B-Sens travel to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. for a Western Conference match-up with the Rochester Americans. The B-Sens have an all time 29-15-3-4-3 record over the Amerks, however Rochester is currently 4-1-1-0 and tied for second in the North Division with 9 points
Friday, Oct. 23 @ Syracuse Crunch (Columbus Blue Jackets)
When the B-Sens and Syracuse Crunch last met on Oct. 9, Binghamton cruised to a 6-2 victory. This coming Friday, they will travel to Syracuse in hopes of skating away with another victory over the Crunch in the second of nine meetings between the teams in the 2009-10 regular season.
Saturday, Oct. 24 @ Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals)
Binghamton makes the trip down to Hershey to face the Bears this coming Saturday, still searching for their first win in the 2009-10 season versus the East Division rival Bears. Hershey’s Alexandre Giroux has not been a favorite of the B-Sens. In two games so far in the 2009-10 season he has a combined four goals and one assist for five points versus Binghamton.
SENS SNIPPETS…
Denis Hamel’s assist on Martin St. Pierre’s goal on Oct. 16 versus Wilkes-Barre was the 250th of his American Hockey League career. Hamel currently has the longest scoring streak on the B-Sens, registering a point in all six games played. This week Hamel scored five assists (0 + 5) in three games played.
In Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Hershey Bears, the B-Sens allowed 27 shots on goal in the second period, setting a new all-time B-Sens record for shots allowed by an opponent in a single period. The previous record was 25 shots allowed in the second period versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Jan. 20, 2006 (a 6-2 loss).
Josh Hennessy, Ryan Keller and Zack Smith currently lead the B-Sens in shots on goal, each with 18.
