Friday, Dec. 20: Binghamton 5, Syracuse 2
Shots: Binghamton 36, Syracuse 20
PP: Binghamton 1 for 7, Syracuse 2 for 4

Binghamton snapped their seven game losing streak Friday night with a 5-2 victory over the Syracuse Crunch on the road.  Mike Hoffman continued his scoring prowess with a goal and an assist while Chris Wideman chipped in three assists for the B-Sens in a much needed victory to keep pace in the East Division.

Syracuse took a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play thanks to two power-play goals.  Brett Connolly started the scoring off at 2:05 of the first period before Cedric Paquette added his eighth marker of the year at 17:21.

Binghamton rebounded after a wobbly start to rattle off five unanswered goals to earn their first win in the month of December.  Fredrick Claesson scored his first goal of the season 5:12 into the middle frame to put the B-Sens on the scoreboard before Hoffman tied the game up at 2-2 with under a minute remaining in the second.

Binghamton tallied three third period goals, the first coming from Mark Stone’s power-play goal at 8:27.  Jim O’Brien notched his third goal of the year with less than two minutes remaining and David Dziurzynski put an empty-netter in with just over 10 seconds left to move the final score to 5-2.

Nathan Lawson earned his ninth win of the season in his first game back since December 6 stopping 18 of 20 shots faced.  Crunch goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis finished the night stopping 31 of 35 shots faced in his third loss of the season.

Saturday, Dec. 21: Albany 2, Binghamton 3 (OT)
Shots: Albany 31, Binghamton 29
PP: Albany 0 for 5, Binghamton 1 for 5

The B-Sens made it a perfect 2-0 weekend by defeating the visiting Albany Devils 3-2 in overtime Saturday night.  Cole Schneider scored his ninth goal of the season just over one minute into the extra frame to give Binghamton their first back-to-back win since November 27.
Stone recorded his eighth goal of the season 3:22 into the first period to open the scoring off a great feed from Hoffman.  Binghamton carried that lead into the first intermission as Andrew Hammond blanked all 10 of the Devils shots in the first 20 minutes of play.

Less than two minutes into the second period, Albany tied things up with Harri Pesonen’s first of two goals for the night off a feed from Kelly Zajac.  Hoffman grabbed the lead for Binghamton at 8:48 of the period with his team-leading sixth power-play goal of the year.

Albany tied the game up once again 13:42 into the third period on Pesonen’s second tally of the night.  Both teams came up empty in the remainder of regulation forcing a sudden-death overtime.  Binghamton remained perfect in the overtime period with Schneider putting home a rebound from Andre Petersson’s wrister at the 1:08 mark of overtime.

Hoffman finished with a goal and assist for the second consecutive night to lead Binghamton offensively.  Hammond earned his seventh win of the year stopping 29 shots while the Devil’s Keith Kinkaid fell for just the fourth time this season stopping 26 of 29 shots faced.
