LAST WEEK: The Binghamton Senators (15-9-3-3, 36 pts.) grabbed five of a possible six points this past week, including three against divisional teams.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 17 @ PHILADELPHIA (3-2 OTL): The B-Sens battled back from an early deficit to force overtime and grab an important divisional point against the Phantoms.  Philadelphia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening period with goals from standout rookie Claude Giroux and Josh Gratton. Veteran winger Danny Bois put the B-Sens on the scoreboard in the second period with the team’s first short-handed goal of the season. Josh Hennessy buried a power-play marker in the closing seconds of the middle stanza to tie the game at 2 apiece.  Nate Raduns buried the game-winning goal 1:28 into overtime. Two of Binghamton’s three overtime losses have come against Philadelphia.
FRIDAY, DEC. 19 vs. SYRACUSE (3-2 W): Binghamton has points in all five games against Syracuse this season, including three straight wins.  Rookie Karpars Daugavins buried his second goal of the season to give Binghamton the early lead.  Following a Crunch tally, Danny Bois struck for his second short-handed tally in as many games.  Neither team could find twine in the third period or overtime.  Netminder Brian Elliott stopped four of five attempts to secure the victory for the B-Sens.  Denis Hamel and Josh Hennessy each converted on shootout attempts for Binghamton.
SATURDAY, DEC. 20 @ BRIDGEPORT (4-1 W): The B-Sens notched their first regulation win over Bridgeport with a big night from former Sound Tiger Drew Fata, who netting a career-high two goals for Binghamton.  Center Marc Cavosie buried his first goal of the season, the eventual game-winner, and added one assist. Rookie Zack Smith snapped a 16-game goal scoring drought with the B-Sens final goal.  The 20-year-old also collected two assist for a three-point night.  Danny Bois, playing in his 300th AHL game (all with Binghamton), extended his point streak to four games (3+1).
THIS WEEK:  The B-Sens host the Syracuse Crunch (14-14-0-2, 30 pts.) on Friday night before hitting the road for two divisional contests.  Binghamton heads down I-81 on Saturday night to take on the top-ranked Hershey Bears (22-7-0-1, 45 pts.) before wrapping up the weekend with a Sunday matinee against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (17-11-1-1, 36 pts.)
FRIDAY, DEC. 26 vs. SYRACUSE (7:05 p.m.): Syracuse has not won a game in nearly a month, with its last win coming on Nov. 28 against Toronto.  Leading scorer Mike York remains on recall with Columbus, while rookie Nikita Filatov is currently away from the team competing in the Work Junior Championship for Russia.  The B-Sens are 18-7-0-2 all-time against Syracuse at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, the most home wins against any opponent.
SATURDAY, DEC. 27 @ HERSHEY (7:00 p.m.): The B-Sens look to snap a 14-game winless streak at Giant Center in their fourth and final trip this season.  Hershey has outscored Binghamton 16-3 in the first three contests this season.  The Bears have are 8-2-0-0 over their last 10 games. Keith Aucoin, who leads the Bears and the AHL in scoring with 37 points (9+28), is back after a brief recall from Washington (NHL) Former B-Sens winger Alexandre Giroux is ranked second in the league with 18 goals.
SUNDAY, DEC. 28 @ WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON (5:05 p.m.):  The B-Sens and Penguins split a home-and-home series back in November, with Binghamton defending home ice with a 4-2 win. Winger Chris Minard leads the AHL in goals (20) and power-play goals (10). Netminder Adam Berkhoel has posted four shutouts, tops in the league.
  • The B-Sens penalty kill is perfect over the last five games, stopping a combined 29 power-play chances over that stretch.
  • Veteran winger Danny Bois played in his 300th AHL game (all with Binghamton) on Saturday night in Bridgeport.  His next goal will be his 50th AHL marker.
  • Netminder Brian Elliott is tied for the league lead with 14 wins.  His 25 games played are good for second among all goaltenders.
  • Defenseman Drew Fata scored a career-high two goals against Bridgeport.
