LAST WEEK: The B-Sens (11-8-2-2, 26 pts.) overcame injuries and call-ups to earn five of a possible eight points this past week, including back-to-back wins over the Hamilton Bulldogs. Binghamton now sits in third place in the East Division standings, two points ahead of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 26 @ HERSHEY (4-1 L): The B-Sens continue to struggle against Hershey at Giant Center, dropping a 4-1 contest to the division leaders on Wednesday night. Defenseman Brian Lee buried Binghamton’s lone goal, his first tally of the season, with Josh Hennessy and Peter Regin collecting assists. The B-Sens power-play unit was held in-check, going 0/6 on the night. Netminder Brian Elliott made 27 saves in the losing effort.
THURSDAY, NOV. 27 vs. ALBANY (3-2 SOL): The two teams battled for 65 minutes and six shootout rounds before Albany earned the extra point. Denis Hamel collected his first multi-point game (1+1), and Peter Regin scored his first AHL goal. Brian Lee and Zack Smith assisted on Hamel’s game-tying goal in the third period. Ilya Zubov converted on Binghamton’s only shootout tally. Netminder Jeff Glass made 31 saves, including four in overtime.
SATURDAY, NOV. 29 vs. HAMILTON (3-2 W): The B-Sens jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Hamilton and never looked back. Denis Hamel scored the opening goal for Binghamton, with the assist from defenseman Drew Fata. Like Hamel, Peter Regin also found the back of the net for the second straight game. Winger Danny Bois scored the game-winning goal late in the second period, batting the puck like a baseball into open net after a Josh Hennessy shot.
SUNDAY, NOV. 30 @ HAMILTON - played in Montreal, QC (5-3 W): Three players registered three-point nights in Binghamton’s 5-3 win over Hamilton. Defenseman Derek Smith set new career-highs for assists and points (0+3), while Mattias Karlsson and Ilya Zubov each had one goal and two assists. The three points marked a new career-high for Karlsson. The B-Sens power-play unit was the difference in the game, converting on four of seven opportunities to tie their season-high output. Josh Hennessy added one goal and one assist for the B-Sens. Ilya Zubov scored the game-winning goal, his third on the season, and Denis Hamel scored a goal for the third straight game. The five goals also tied a season-high for Binghamton.
THIS WEEK: After an extremely busy month of November, the B-Sens schedule calms down as they look to December. For the first time in more than a month, The B-Sens are slated to play just two game this week. They welcome the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (15-5-0-2, 32 pts.) to the Arena on Friday night for the fifth contest between the two teams this year. Binghamton heads south to take on the Philadelphia Phantoms (12-11-0-0, 24 pts.) on Saturday night.
FRIDAY, DEC. 5 vs. BRIDGEPORT (7:05 p.m.): The B-Sens look to gain ground on the East Division’s second place team. The Sound Tigers have controlled the B-Sens in four meetings this year, winning three and earning a point for a shootout loss. Zack Smith (2+3) and Ilya Zubov (3+5) have collected points in all four games against the Sound Tigers this year. Winger Blake Comeau is averaging a point per-game this season with Bridgeport, with four goals and 13 assists in 17 games.
SATURDAY, DEC. 6 @ PHILADELPHIA (7:05 p.m.): The B-Sens return to the Wachovia Spectrum for the second time this season. In their first visit, the B-Sens downed the Phantoms by a 3-1 final. Rookie Zack Smith buried the game-winning goal for the B-Sens, while netminder Jeff Glass turned aside 24 of 25 shots to earn the win. Center Josh Hennessy has three points (1+2) against the Phantoms this season. Rookie Claude Giroux has three game-winning goals for the Phantoms; included is one against Binghamton in a 4-3 overtime win on Nov. 22 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
  • Eight of Binghamton’s 12 games in the month of December are against East Division teams.
  • The B-Sens have dominated their North Division opponents this season with a 6-1-1-1 record through nine games. Binghamton has seven games remaining against Rochester (3-17-0-2, 8 pts).
