SENS SNIPPETS…

Bobby Butler’s game winning goal scored against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was his sixth game winner for the B-Sens this season. Butler is currently tied with Maxime Sauve of the Providence Bruins for the league lead in game winning goals.

On Monday, Butler scored a goal and notched three assists for the Eastern Conference All-Stars, as the East downed the West 11-8 in the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Capital BlueCross. The rookie forward was honored as the 2011 AHL All-Star MVP.

Corey Locke made his fifth AHL All-Star appearance this week, recording two assists and remains the all-time leading scorer in AHL All-Star history with 11 points in five appearances.

Colin Greening
recorded ten points (nine assists, one goal) in 15 games played with the B-Sens during the month of January, and was the B-Sens top scoring rookie for that month.  The Cornell University alum was called-up to the National Hockey League on Jan. 31, and made his NHL debut Tuesday night in Ottawa’s 2-1 loss at New Jersey.

Barry Brust led all B-Sens goaltenders during the month of January.  Brust made five starts for the B-Sens last month, posting a record of 4-1-0.  Two of his four victories were shutouts; Jan. 1 at Charlotte he made 32 saves, and Jan. 19 at Albany he made 26 saves, both 3-0 victories.  Over the course of those five games Brust put up a 1.80 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage.

B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…

On Monday, Feb. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m., Cody Bass and his Binghamton Senators teammates will hold a special outdoor skate at Highland Park (801 Hooper Rd., Endwell, N.Y.) to help raise awareness and funds for WINGS (When I Need Guidance & Support). Those who wish to participate must bring their own skates. There is no cost to skate. Hackerthreads.com will be on hand to sell WINGS t-shirts which were designed with the assistance of Bass and there will be refreshments available at the park concession stand.  Proceeds from the sale of t-shirts and refreshments will benefit WINGS.  For more information click here.
