The Binghamton Senators tallied a season-high six goals and netminder Martin Gerber turned away 43 shots to lead Binghamton past division rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by a 6-4 final on Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The B-Sens got the scoring started late in the first period while on the power play.   Peter Regin scored his first goal of the night off a rebound which Ryan Shannon fired from the blue line.   Shannon picked up his fourth assist in two games.   Hamel also assisted on the play giving him a five-game point streak (5-4).

Momentum switched to the Penguins in the second period when Wilkes-Barre/Scranton scored two goals in under two minutes.   Jeff Taffe scored a short-handed goal and Luca Caputi tallied his 11th goal of the season on a two-on-one break.

Binghamton tilted the pendulum late in the second period when the B-Sens returned the favor scoring two goals in just over two minutes. Ilya Zubov poked in his 11th goal of the season with a 5-on-3 advantage after Danny Bois put the puck on net.

The B-Sens took a 3-2 lead when Peter Regin scored his second goal of the game and his eighth of the season when he slapped a rebound in off of a Zubov shot.  The assist was Zubov’s second point of the game and Matt Carkner also tallied his 11th assist of the season.
