B-SENS SURVIVE OT THRILLER IN GLENS FALLS

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – Despite the Adirondack Flames twice rallying from a three-goal deficit, the Binghamton Senators survived for an 8-7 overtime victory. Eleven players between each team had multi-point evenings including Cole Schneider (2+1) and Shane Prince (1+2) having three-point nights for the B-Sens. 
 
Schneider opened up the scoring for the B-Sens six seconds into their first power play chance after deflecting Carter Camper’s shot from the corner 4:33 in the first period. The Flames responded eight seconds later when Garnet Hathaway knocked beat Peter Mannino to bring the score to a 1-1 tie. Chris Wideman gave the Senators a 2-1 lead with 1:23 left in the first after knocking home a rebound from Fredrik Claesson and beating Doug Carr over his blocker arm for his 16th goal of the season. The B-Sens took the one-goal advantage to the locker room along with leading the shots 10-7 over the Flames.
 
David Wolf tied the game back up for the Flames less than two minutes into the second period after receiving a centering a feed he swiped home past Mannino for his 15th of the year. Binghamton responded with two goals 19 seconds apart giving them their first two-goal cushion and ending Carr’s night for Adirondack. The first came from a Buddy Robinson shot redirected by Alex Guptill followed by Schneider’s second of the night from the right faceoff circle. Sena Acolatse made it 4-3 at the 8:28 mark of the second, but Brad Mills gave the multi-goal cushion back to the B-Sens after redirecting a shot from Patrick Mullen with less than 7 minutes in the period. Camper made it a 6-3 game after ripping a hard shot past Brad Thiessen with three seconds left in the period and giving the B-Sens the lead heading to the final intermission. 
 
The back-and-forth goal scoring continued in the third period with the teams combining for five goals. Prince tallied the lone B-Sens goal on a power play in final period of regulation with Schneider picking up the assist. Wolf and Kulak picked up goals for the Flames along with Hathaway scoring twice in the final period to record a hat trick and force the teams to overtime with a 7-7 score.
 
Aaron Johnson recorded his second overtime goal of the season and the game winner 3:13 into the extra time after redirecting Mullen’s shot to give Binghamton the victory. 
 
Mannino stopped 36 shots for his 5th win of the season while Thiessen had 15 saves on 20 shots in the losing effort.
