Shots: Adirondack 50, Binghamton 23
PP: Adirondack 0 for 7, Binghamton 1 for 7

The Binghamton Senators beat the visiting Adirondack Phantoms 4-2 after overcoming an early third period 2-1 deficit in front of a crowd of nearly 4,300 fans.  Nathan Lawson played stellar all night between the iron stopping 48 of 50 Adirondack shots faced while Jean-Gabriel Pageau put the game winner past Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter at the 8:48 mark of the third to lift the B-Sens to its fifth consecutive win.

Andre Petersson returned to the line-up for the first time since October 19 and picked up right where he left off registering the first goal of the contest at the 7:31 mark of the second period off assists from Corey Cowick and Fredrick Claesson.  Adirondack answered less than two minutes later when Petr Straka managed to beat Lawson leveling the score at 1-1.

Adirondack took its first and only lead of the contest just over three minutes into the final frame when Kyle Flanagan recorded his second tally of the year.  However, Binghamton scored three goals while holding the visitors in check for the remainder of the contest much in part to Lawson.  Stephane Da Costa one-timed a pass from Cody Ceci just above the left circle which blew by Heeter knotting the score at 2-2.  Just under three minutes later, Pageau tipped the game winner past Heeter off a slapshot from Tyler Eckford putting the hosts ahead 3-2.  Mark Stone added an empty net insurance goal with under 30 seconds remaining putting the game out of reach for Adirondack and springing the B-Sens to their first victory over the Phantoms in three tries this season.

Lawson turned in a 48 save performance to move to 7-1-0 for the year while Heeter managed 19 saves in the losing effort.  Both Pageau and Stone finished with a goal and an assist while Mike Hoffman extended his point streak to five games.

Saturday, Nov. 16: Rochester 3, Binghamton 7
Shots: Rochester 34, Binghamton 38
PP: Rochester 0 for 3, Binghamton 0 for 3

Binghamton overcame an early first period deficit to beat the Rochester Americans 7-3 after rattling off four consecutive second period goals at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.  Buddy Robinson and Corey Cowick scored two goals while Shane Prince, Stephane Da Costa and Mike Hoffman each added a goal and an assist to lift the B-Sens over the Amerks for the third time in as many meetings this season.  Andrew Hammond played solid between the pipes for the home team turning aside 31 of 34 shots faced to earn his fourth victory of the year.

The Amerks took its only lead of the contest off an unassisted shorthanded tally from Mike Zigomanis at the 10:25 mark of the opening period.  Matt Hackett stifled all 10 Binghamton shots faced in the first 20 minutes of play sending the home team to their locker room down 1-0.

The second period brought a different Binghamton team as it managed 20 shots while holding Rochester to just six chances.  Corey Cowick evened the score 3:02 into the period pushing home a rebound off Wacey Hamilton’s wraparound try.  Less than two minutes later, Hoffman notched his ninth goal of the season when he took a loose puck from Cole Schneider’s shot and buried it over an outstretched Hackett putting the hosts ahead for good.  Robinson and Da Costa added goals before the conclusion of the middle frame moving the score to 4-1 Binghamton.

Rochester managed to move within two of the B-Sens when Joel Armia scored his first goal of the season 3:20 into the final frame, but Binghamton responded with Prince notching his third goal of the season at the 9:21 mark.  The Amerks got one more past Hammond with just under eight minutes to play, but Cowick added an empty-netter with a minute and a half to play before Robinson added the backbreaker with under a minute to go making the final score 7-3 Binghamton.

Hammond turned aside 31 shots faced to move to 4-3-0 for the year while Hackett struggled stopping 31 of 37 shots faced in the losing effort.  The victory moved Binghamton’s win streak to six consecutive games.

Record: 11-4-0-0 (22 points)

Standings: Another perfect weekend for Binghamton allowed the team to move into a tie for first place in the East Division with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.  Both teams hold a two point lead over Syracuse who sits in third place with Norfolk barely behind the Crunch at 19 points.
