The Binghamton Senators kicked off a weekend of back-to-back home games last Friday as they hosted the Albany Devils. A three goal second period would help lead the B-Sens to a big 5-2 victory over the visiting Devils.   
 
Cole Schneider led the offense for Binghamton registering three points on the night with a pair of goals and an assist. Shane Prince, Mike Hoffman and Corey Cowick would also score goals for the B-Sens and Mark Stone tallied a pair of assists. 
 
Matt Anderson and David Wohlberg each scored for Albany.
 
Nathan Lawson tended goal for Binghamton and stopped 28 of 30 shots. Keith Kinkaid was the starting goalie for Albany, halting 23 of the 27 shots he faced.
 
Saturday, March 23: Hamilton 2, Binghamton 4
Shots: Hamilton 29, Binghamton 24
PP: Hamilton 1 for 3, Binghamton 1 for 3
 
On Saturday the B-Sens welcomed the Hamilton Bulldogs back to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for the first time since January of 2009. It wouldn’t be a warm welcome as the B-Sens went on to double up on the Bulldogs, 4-2. 
 
Mark Stone tallied a pair of goals in the game. Mike Hoffman and Chris Wideman also had two point nights, each earning a pair of helpers in the game. Wacey Hamilton and Stephane Da Costa wrapped up the scoring for Binghamton. 
 
Greg Pateryn and Frederic St. Denis both scored for Hamilton. 
 
Nathan Lawson started in goal for the B-Sens and earned his second win in as many days and third straight with 27 save of 29 shots. Dustin Tokarski started between the pipes for the Bulldogs stopping 20 of 23 shots.
 
Sunday, March 24: Binghamton 1, Connecticut 6
Shots: Binghamton 31, Connecticut 35
PP: Binghamton 0 for 4, Connecticut 0 for 3
 
The B-Sens travelled to Hartford on Sunday where they would face the Connecticut Whale for their third game in as many nights. The weekend ended on a sour note for Binghamton and they stumbled to a lopsided 6-1 loss at the XL Center. 
 
Mark Stone scored the lone Binghamton goal, assisted by Stephane Da Costa and Mike Hoffman. 
 
Andrew Yogan and Christian Thomas led the Whale with two goals each. Benn Ferriero and Brandon Segal would also each tally a goal. 
 
Marc Cheverie started in net for Binghamton saving 29 of 35 shots. Cameron Talbot opposed Cheverie, stopping 30 of the 31 shots that he faced.
 
Wednesday, March 27: Binghamton 2, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4
Shots: Binghamton 30, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 34
PP: Binghamton 0 for 4, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 for 7
 
Binghamton made the trip down I-81 to Wilkes-Barre for the fifth and final time this season to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Wednesday. The B-Sens went on to drop their second straight contest, falling to the East Division rival Pens 4-2. 
 
Corey Cowick and Hugh Jessiman would each score goals for the visiting B-Sens. 
 
Trevor Smith, Chad Kolarik, Paul Thompson and Brian Gibbons were the goal scorers for the Pens. 
 
Nathan Lawson returned between the pipes for Binghamton making 30 saves on 34 shots in the loss. Jeff Zatkoff started in goal for the Penguins stopping 28 of 30 shots. 
 
Record:39-21-1-5
 
Standings:The B-Sens are in second place overall in the East Division (84 points).
 
THIS WEEK…
 
Friday, March 29 vs. Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens return home after a pair of games away from the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena tonight as they host the Adirondack Phantoms. 
 
Tonight’s meeting will be the seventh of eight total set to take place between the two teams this season. The B-Sens enter the match-up having gone 3-2-0-1 against the Phantoms this season. 
 
Adirondack holds a record of 27-33-2-3 and 59 points, which puts them at fifth place overall in the Northeast Division, but the team has gone 6-3-0-1 in their last ten contests.
 
Forward Jason Akeson leads the team in goals (14), assists (30) and points (44).
 
Promotions: Tonight is Zoo Night presented by the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park and Magic 101.7! 
 
The ZooMobile will be present, allowing fans to interact with a variety of animals that call the Binghamton Zoo home including an armadillo, Amazon parrot, ball python, barred owl, chinchilla, fennec fox, ferret and slider turtle.
 
The zoo will have displays throughout the concourse that evening and activities including face painting and the opportunity to ask a keeper questions about the animals.
 
Fans are encouraged to visit the silent auction on the main concourse of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Items in the auction include framed autographed photos of B-Sens goaltender Marc Cheverie and forward Dustin Gazley on location at the zoo and framed photos of animals that call the Binghamton Zoo home accompanied by special zoo pucks autographed by members of the B-Sens. 
 
Additionally fans will have the opportunity to purchase one of a dozen grab bags featuring a limited edition Binghamton Zoo puck for $15. Eight of the 12 bags will have a puck signed by B-Sens forward Mike Hoffman. Due to the limited quantity, grab bags are available on a first come, first serve basis.
 
Saturday, March 30 vs. Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) – 7:05 p.m.
 
On Saturday the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will make their fifth and final visit of the 2012-13 season to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. 
 
The B-Sens have dominated the season series posting a 6-2-0-1 record against the I-81 and East Division rivals so far this season.
 
The Pens enter the weekend with a 35-28-2-1, good for 73 points and third place in the East Division.
 
Forward Chad Kolarik leads the team in assists (31) and points (55). Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff leads the American Hockey League in goals-against average with a 2.00.
 
Promotions: Saturday is the 2013 Face Off Against Cancer presented by Lourdes and annual post-game skate with the players!
 
Fans attending the game are encouraged to visit the various cancer awareness displays and meet the 2013 American Cancer Society Relay for Life teams that will be present throughout the arena concourse. Many teams will features raffles and prizes to encourage donations.  
 
The game also features a “Survivors Lap” which is set to take place during the first intermission. 
 
Also Saturday there will be a post-game skate with the B-Sens players. Fans who wish to skate must bring their own skates. For fans who do not wish to skate, they will be able to access a carpeted area on-ice to obtain player autographs and photos. 
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Forward Mark Stone was the most productive member of the B-Sens on offense last week. He posted back-to-back multi-point games last weekend, recording a pair of assists Friday versus Albany and a pair of goals against Hamilton on Saturday. In four games last week the forward recorded a total of three goals and two assists for five points. 
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
Throughout the month of March, the B-Sens will have four custom built lockers designed by the B-Sens players on display on the arena concourse. The lockers will be raffled off to benefit Broome County Habitat for Humanity. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5. The winner will be drawn on Saturday, March 30.
