The Binghamton Senators defeated the Hershey Bears 4-3 Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. The victory was their first against the East Division rivals this season. Jim O’Brien scored a pair of goals, including the game winner and Robin Lehner made 42 saves to help lift the B-Sens to victory. Pat Cannone and Corey Locke also scored goals for Binghamton and Rob Klinkhammer added a pair of assists. Julien Brouillette, Jacob Micflikier and Chris Bourque each scored for the Bears. Bourque added a pair of assists for a three point night. Braden Holtby tended goals for the Bears, turning aside 30 of 34 shots.
Sunday, Jan. 22: Adirondack 3, Binghamton 4

PP: Adirondack 1 for 3, Binghamton 3 for 7
For the second straight game the B-Sens beat their opponent by a score of 4-3. This time the B-Sens defeated the Adirondack Phantoms. With the victory, Binghamton remains perfect (6-0-0-0) in games against the Phantoms this season. Also for the second straight game, Jim O’Brien tallied a pair of goals, including the game winner. Pat Cannone and Stephane Da Costa rounded out the scoring for the B-Sens. Mike Hoffman would assist on three of the four Binghamton goals. Former B-Sens captain Denis Hamel, Jon Kalinski and Mike Testwuide each scored goals for Adirondack. Mike McKenna manned the pipes for Binghamton, making 32 saves. His counterpart Jason Bacashihua made 36 saves.

Standings:The B-Sens are fifth place in the East Division (38 points).
THIS WEEK…
Friday, Jan. 27 vs. Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) – 7:05 p.m.
The Binghamton Senators welcome the Albany Devils back to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena tomorrow. The meeting will be the first between the two teams since Dec. 26, an 8-3 B-Sens’ victory.
Friday’s game will be the sixth of eight between the teams this season. Binghamton holds the edge in the season series having gone 3-2-0-0 against the Devils thus far.
The Devils are currently tied with the Adirondack Phantoms for third place in the Northeast Division with a record of 18-15-5-3 and 44 points.
Joe Whitney leads the Devils in points. The forward has scored 11 goals and added 14 assists for 25 points in 39 games played.
Saturday, Jan. 28 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) – 7:05 p.m.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins come to town Saturday for the seventh game of a ten game season series between the East Division rivals. The teams last met Dec. 13 in Wilkes-Barre, a 4-2 B-Sens’ loss. The B-Sens haven’t won a game against the Penguins since a 5-4 victory in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 15.
The Penguins rank first overall in the East Division with a record of 25-12-2-4 and 56 points. They also boast a road record of 17-3-0-2 and are currently winners of eight straight road games.
Colin McDonald leads all Penguins in points having posted 36 (12 goals, 24 assists) in 39 games played.
Promotions: The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive lighted Thundersticks courtesy of Verizon Wireless.
SENS SNIPPETS…
This week the AHL announced that defenseman Mark Borowiecki has been added to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2012 AHL All-Star Classic. In 42 games with the B-Sens this season, he has recorded three goals and 12 assists along with 76 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. A native of Kanata, Ont., Borowiecki made his NHL debut for his hometown Ottawa Senators on Jan. 19.
Forward Jim O'Brien was the top point producer for the B-Sens last week. O'Brien scored a pair of goals in the B-Sens 4-3 win over the Hershey Bears on Jan. 20 and a pair of goals and an assist in the team's 4-3 win over Adirondack on Jan. 22. O'Brien received credit for the game winning goal in both games. The forward is tied with Pat Cannone for the team lead in game winning goals with three, and leads the team in short handed goals with two.
