The B-Sens earned their second consecutive win with a 4-2 home victory over the Devils on Friday. The teams traded goals in the first. Albany got on the board with a power play goal from Matthew Corrente, but Nikita Filatov leveled the score for Binghamton, answering with a power play goal of his own. Corey Cowick gave the B-Sens a lead in the second, netting his first goal of the season. Joe Whitney tied the game for the Devils later that period, but Mike Hoffman put the B-Sens ahead for good with a late goal in the third period. Pat Cannone added an empty-net goal with less than one minute remaining to seal the 4-2 victory. Robin Lehner earned the win in net for Binghamton, stopping 42 of 44 shots. 
 
Saturday, Oct. 29: Rochester 1, Binghamton 3

PP: Rochester 0 for 4, Binghamton 1 for 5
 
Binghamton extended their win streak to three games with a 3-1 home victory over the Rochester Americans on Saturday night. Pat Cannone netted his third goal of the season to put the B-Sens up 1-0 midway through the second period. Jim O’Brien added a shorthanded goal early in the third before Corey Tropp put Rochester on the board to make it 2-1. Mike Hoffman added some insurance for the B-Sens later in the third sealing the win, 3-1. Mike McKenna start in goal, recording his first win of the season by stopping 33 of 34 shots. 
 
Sunday, Oct. 30: Binghamton 2, Hershey 3
Shots: Binghamton 21, Hershey 32
PP: Binghamton 0 for 3, Hershey 2 for 6
 
The B-Sens saw their win streak end in Sunday’s road loss to the Hershey Bears, falling by a score of 3-2 at the Giant Center.   Graham Mink, Boyd Kane and Jacob Micflickier scored the game’s first three goals respectively for the Bears. Mink’s and Micflickier’s each came with the man advantage. The B-Sens finally got on the board as Wacey Hamilton scored his first professional goal with just 52.3 seconds remaining in the second period. Andre Petersson brought the B-Sens to within a goal in the third but the Bears ultimately held on for the win.  Mike McKenna started in goal for Binghamton, stopping 29 of 32 shots.

Standings:The B-Sens are in fourth place in the East Division (eleven points).
                                                                       
THIS WEEK…
 
Wednesday, Nov. 2 @ Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) – 7 p.m.
 
The Binghamton Senators travel to Albany to face off against the Devils for the third time in as many weeks. The meeting is the third of eight between the two teams this season; Binghamton has won each of the first two games against the Devils by scores of 4-2 on Oct. 16 and Oct. 28, respectively. Albany enters the week 4-6-0-0 and sits in fifth place in the Northeast Division (eight points). The Devils have won three of their last four games after beginning the season 1-5-0-0. Matt Anderson (3+4=7), Joe Whitney (3+4=7) and Matthew Corrente (2+5=7) are currently tied for first overall for Albany in scoring with seven points each.  
 
Fans can listen to the game live from Albany on “Binghamton’s Classic Hits” BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts Countdown to Faceoff. 
 
Friday, Nov. 4 vs. Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens will welcome the Rochester Americans for the second consecutive weekend. The game is the second of eight meetings between the teams.  Binghamton defeated Rochester 3-1 last Saturday by a score of 3-1. Rochester is 3-4-2-1 so far this season and with nine points they tied with the Hamilton Bulldogs and Lake Erie Monsters for second place overall in the North Division. Forward Derek Whitmore currently leads the team in points with eight; he has four goals and four assists in 10 games this season.
 
Saturday, Nov. 5 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) – 7:05 p.m.
 
The B-Sens wrap up their week as they welcome the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to Binghamton for the first time this season. On home ice, the B-Sens are 20-13-2-0-1 all time vs. the Penguins. The Pens are 5-2-1-1 on the season and currently sit in third place in the East Division with 12 points, one ahead of Binghamton. Wilkes-Barre is undefeated on the road this season (5-0-0-0) and has outscored its opponents 20-6 in road contests.  Forward Bryan Lerg leads the team with 12 points (six goals, six assists)
and has scored two shorthanded goals this season.
 
SENS SNIPPETS…
 
Left wing Kaspars Daugavins recorded his first National Hockey League goal in the Ottawa Senators’ 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 30. The goal proved to be the game winner. Daugavins had six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in 7 games with the B-Sens before being called up to Ottawa on Oct. 24. In five career NHL games, he has recorded one goal, one point and added four penalty minutes.
 
Goaltender Robin Lehner was recalled to Ottawa for the first time this season on Oct. 29. He made 23 saves in the Senators’ 3-2 win over Toronto on Oct. 30. 
 
Right wing Wacey Hamilton scored his first professional goal in Binghamton’s 3-2 loss to the Hershey Bears on Sunday. In 10 games with the B-Sens this season, Hamilton has two points (one goal, one assist).
 
With an assist in the B-Sens’ 4-2 win over Albany on Oct. 28, center Corey Locke now ranks ninth overall on the Binghamton Senators all-time list of assists leaders with 72. 
 
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY…
 
The Binghamton Senators and the Magic Paintbrush Project will team up on Monday, Nov. 7 for their annual “Paint with the Players” event.  The event invites the special needs community to experience hockey through a special workshop with the B-Sens players. For more information on The Magic Paintbrush Project and the Paint with the Players event, please visit www.magicpaintbrushproject.org.
