B-SENS ANNOUNCE 2006-07 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators will launch their fifth anniversary season in the American Hockey League on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:05 p.m. with a game against the Syracuse Crunch at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The 80-game regular season schedule, spanning 189 days, will conclude at home on Saturday, April 14 at 7:05 p.m. against the defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears.

As was the scenario last season, 28 of Binghamton’s home games will be played on Friday or Saturday nights.  Also included in the schedule are traditional holiday games on Thanksgiving Day (Hershey), New Year’s Eve (Toronto) and Dec. 26 (Syracuse).  Binghamton will also play at home on St. Patrick’s Day (Portland) for a second consecutive season.

March shapes up as a pivotal and busy month for the B-Sens with a season-high 16 games on the schedule, including 10 on the road and 13 against East Division foes.

The 2006-07 schedule will also include one home game to be played away from Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.  That game will occur on Feb. 17, 2007 at First Arena in Elmira, NY as the B-Sens face the Norfolk Admirals.

“Due to circumstances outside of our control, we lost two dates in February at the Arena and will be moving our Feb. 17 home game to Elmira,” said Tom Mitchell, the Senators executive vice president of operations.  “We were able to move one of the games to another date at the Arena, but the Feb. 17 game could not be moved due to conflicts at the Arena and with Norfolk’s schedule.  Therefore, we looked into several options and felt that moving the game to Elmira was the best choice.”

Season ticket holders will be issued a refund for their ticket(s) to the Feb. 17 game.  The refund can in turn be applied to choice seats at First Arena that will be held exclusively for B-Sens season ticket holders.  Further details of the refund and information on single-game tickets will be announced at a later date.

While individual game tickets will not be on sale until the fall, season tickets for the fifth anniversary campaign remain on sale at the Sens’ front office on the third floor of the Arena.  The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (607) 722-SENS.
