The Binghamton Senators today announced their opponents for the club’s fifth anniversary season. A complete schedule with dates and times for all 80 B-Sens’ games will be released later this summer by the American Hockey League.
New to the B-Sens schedule for 2006-07 are the Worcester Sharks, AHL affiliate to the San Jose Sharks. The franchise relocated from Cleveland at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
The return of Albany to the East Division has increased the number of B-Sens games against divisional foes from 40 last season to 48 in 2006-07. Other East Division opponents include the 2006 Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Philadelphia Phantoms, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Norfolk Admirals. Binghamton will play each East Division opponent eight times.
Twenty games are scheduled against opponents from the North Division. Binghamton will play the Syracuse Crunch and the Rochester Americans eight times each with the remaining four games coming against the Toronto Marlies.
The Senators will play two games against each Atlantic Division opponent with the exception of Hartford. Hartford and the Hamilton Bulldogs are the only opponents dropped from the Sens’ 2005-06 schedule. There will be no games on Binghamton’s schedule against opponents from the West Division.
