SCHUBERT TO JOIN GERMAN SQUAD AT 2005 WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Binghamton Senators defenseman Christoph Schubert will join the German team at the 2005 IIHF World Championship of hockey in Austria.

Schubert, who set professional career highs for goals (10) and assists (22) in 76 games with the Senators during the 2004-05 season, is scheduled to arrive in Austria on Wednesday and join the Germans as they continue play in Group D of the preliminary round of the tournament.

Schubert has plenty of international playing experience as he has also played for his homeland at the 2002 Winter Olympics and the World Junior Championship.  He was Ottawa’s fifth-round selection (127th overall) at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
