The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins scored three third-period goals to defeat the Binghamton Senators 4-2 Sunday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Denis Hamel (1+1=2) and Danny Bois were the goal scores for Binghamton.
Binghamton jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead, after Hamel lifted a rebound off the end boards over Penguins goalie John Curry and Bois blasted a one-timer past Curry eight minutes later. Derek Smith and Justin Mapletoft assist on Hamelís marker, and Alexander Nikulin and Hamel recorded the helpers on Boisí tally.
Wilkes-Barre/Scrantonís Ned Havern scored the lone goal of the second frame, sneaking a puck past B-Sens netminder Brian Elliott from the right side of the crease off a feed from the corner.
Alain Nasreddine tied the game at 2-2 for the Penguins 6:47 into the final stanza after his shot from the point found the back of the net after pinballing through a crowd in front of Elliott. Tim Brent provided the game-winner with a little over seven minutes left in the game when a centering pass deflected off his knee and past Elliott.
Ryan Stone added an empty net marker at 19:05 to seal the victory for the Penguins.
