The Binghamton Senators begin their longest road stretch of the season tonight when they take the ice at Norfolk Scope at 7:15 p.m. in the first of two consecutive games against the Norfolk Admirals. The B-Sens will play Norfolk again on Saturday, followed by Albany on Wednesday and Syracuse a week from tonight to round out their four-game road stretch.
The B-Sens (23-18-4-4, 54 pts.) are 3-1-0-1 this season against the Admirals (16-27-2-4, 38 pts.) and have collected points in the last four games. Binghamton’s highest goal total of the season came against Norfolk on Dec. 1, when the club easily handed the Admirals 8-5 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Denis Hamel buried two markers and Lawrence Nycholat registered a four-point night (1+3=4).
Rookie Ilya Zubov has seven points (3+4=7) in five games against the Admirals this season. Center Josh Hennessy has nine points (2+7=9) in his last ten games.
Denis Hamel has collected ten points (4+6=10) in eight games since returning from a foot injury in mid January.
The Admirals enter this weekend’s games as the hottest team in the East Division, as they are 5-0-1-1 over their last seven games and have won their last three contests. Kyle Wanvig, the Admirals’ leading scorer (14+24=38), has eight points in five games against the B-Sens this season.
